……

Midnight, all is quiet, I stand in a hotel’s cold courtyard alone.
A crescent new moon on high, a streetlamp in front,
They bestow the orange-candlelight of tranquility upon me.
A stream of confused thoughts is surging in my chaotic mind,
Splashing tears into my frustrated eyes.
Looking up at the sky, where is the planet Venus in here of tonight?

A gust of wind whizzed by,
Airs an ethereal voice over my head:
“Look, behind you, what is that?”
~ “That’s my silhouette against the light.”
“That’s your humble shadow,
It’s also the epitome of your annoying.”

……

Look ~, my darling,
look –– those flying snowflakes right outside the window,
they are dancing lively with wind’s melody,
how soft and gentle, what a joy and delight.

Uh huh ~, it seemed like your fingers,
while caressing my earlobe,
how soft and gentle,
what a pleasant cozy feeling.

My darling ~,
look –– those beautiful snowflakes,
did they know their destine after landing on the ground?
they might be thawed to be water or dissolved into mud.

……

On the bottom layer of the lucks and saddles
There are countless eyes watching
The shooting stars have swept across the skyline
Their rippling tails were sharpened
as the white edge of the swords but vanished instantly
The distance between the Heaven and Hell is very short
Who knows the zipper of Pandora’s magic bag
has been pinched by whose fingers exactly

……

I’ve been trudging through the white sands’ sea,
Towards the Venus in the sapphire-blue sky straight forwards.
The howling hot wind was whipping at my black toga,
My unbending long hair was fluttering under the white cloth scarf with the wind.
Various fantastic appearances of white dunes gave me a thrilling impression of beauty,
Don’t know they were the remains of the sandstorms from which years and months.
My natural curiosity gave me the courage and energy,
I was determined to trace back the historical origin of the desert’s oasis.
One step followed by one journey, passed one dune to another mountain.

……

Being far in the Heaven
Have you ever seen those flowers inside my garden’s hedge
Roses, rosebushes, Chinese roses, lilies, carnations
And those all-around of blossoming daisies and tricolor pansies
Red, orange, yellow, white, purple
Each flower is manifesting fully the miracle of vitality
Seemed like you, who had been in this world living
Ending your last breath with diligence and effort
Never caring about fame and fortune
Being honest and generous during your lifetime, impeccably

<2>

……

<1>

……

I am a sprite of the night
Focusing the light and shade’s scenery in the middle of the night
Along the Bahnhofstrasse where has none other pedestrians

Countless string of colorful shining small lamps
Like the crystal-clear peals are sparkling in front of my eyes
As if the mysterious Milky Way has descended specially for me

The magnificent stores and boutiques along my both sides
Widely opened their resplendent displaying showcases
The expansive luxury goods seemed as if all belong to me

A brief passerby car’s taillights dragged a red fire dragon
An oncoming car’s headlights spring towards my face
Like a white tiger soared up to challenge my self-possession

A telephone booth with its charming blue light is standing
On the corner of the street respectfully as if a humble servant
Guards a gangway ladder that could directly reach into the Heaven.

……

They said that you were here,
Large, full round, reddish hue, magical beauty.
Many people climbed up to the hills to snap pictures for souvenir.
What a pity, I lost a transient opportunity to see you.
During that evening,
My atmosphere was thick with the rain and the wind.

……

In the name of love and freedom, I write down your name…

Holding a bouquet of white chrysanthemums,
I stand in front of your gravestone.
A sea of billowy pine trees is chanting a poetic ode,
The autumnal sunshine brightened your smiling face.
You were born in this beautiful green land beside this forest,
You possessed a house and inherited a farm from your ancestors.
You were a proficient nurse and was working in a university hospital.
In the name of love and freedom, you joined Médecins Sans Frontières,
Your footprints have remained forever within the people who mostly need help.

……

I know there are a few things …
They’ve never been aware or don’t care …
The whisperings of gentle rain on the tips of green leaves
The scent of moistened dust in the desperately thirsty fields
The boundless love of nature might only cherish life on the harmonic lands …
I’ve ever believed after all …
The soothing touch of the hands in hands
May stimulate life-giving vigor soaring with dreams beyond the earth gravity …

At a twinkling moment when a Cape Jasmine flower
Dropped onto my desktop,
I instantly caught a fresh fragrance.
It has been inhaled deeply into my lungs,
Flowing through my brain to awaken my memory about that year.

July, on the metro platform of Beijing Qian-men Gate,
Carrying a pot of Cape Jasmine in hands,
I had been pushed and shoved to against your chest
By the rushing passengers all around me.
You were holding two travel bags in hands
Getting stuck in the jam-packed carriage.
